Buller-based adventure company Wild Rivers Rafting has a very good reason that its website takes bookings. “We don’t have an office,” says operator Bruce.
“The alternative for us would be to have a full on booking office. So just doing away with that and having just a simple website is actually way cheaper than the other options for us,” he says.
The .nz domain name helps Wild Rivers’ many international customers find them from abroad, because they know they have found a New Zealand rafting company. It also carries prestige, he says. “You know, stick your stamp on it - ‘it’s New Zealand!’”
The company’s website is not complicated and doesn’t need to be. And Bruce’s advice for other small companies launching or revamping a website? “Keep it simple.”
