This site is operated by Internet New Zealand Incorporated (InternetNZ). We are the wholesale provider of all .nz domain names to a retail channel of registrars that offer .nz domain names to the public. As a wholesale provider InternetNZ does not sell domain names directly or respond to queries from the public, but if you would like to more information on our role and activities then please visit registry.internetnz.nz
The Domain Name Commission (DNCL) (1) is the organisation that regulates the .nz domain name space. The role of DNCL is to develop and monitor a competitive registrar market and create a fair environment for the registration and management of .nz domain names. As part of this role the Commission authorises companies as registrars after a thorough vetting process.
The Commission does respond directly to queries from the public and can offer advice on:
- complaints about registrars not abiding by .nz policies
- incorrect domain name registration information
- disputes over who should be the registrant of a .nz domain name.
For more information about DNC please visit www.dnc.org.nz
DNC is wholly owned by InternetNZ which is the charitable open membership organisation dedicated to protecting and promoting the Internet in New Zealand.
All profits from .nz go to InternetNZ, which it uses to further its charitable objects and deliver an open and uncaptureable Internet for New Zealand.
