The Blue Carrot Catering company saw its sales surge at home and its name reach around the world after launching a website.
The Wellington-based company had initially advertised its services with mail drops before deciding to spend money on a .nz domain name. ‘When that went online, the business took off virtually overnight because we became so much more accessible,’ says co-owner Gordon Blair.
The website address is easy for customers to remember and looks professional, he says. So much so, in fact, that a woman in France who was planning to get married in New Zealand found them online and hired the company to cater the event.
‘I’d recommend any small business out there to certainly get a .nz website if they haven’t already got it,’ Gordon says. ‘And watch their business grow.’
