.nz is delighted to become a Patron of the Internet section of www.wikinewzealand.org.
Wiki New Zealand is a charity aiming to make it normal to "know your country". The website presents data on a wide range of topics relevant to New Zealand in simple, visual formats, so that it is accessible for everyone.
By becoming a Patron of the Internet section, .nz is enabling the section to be established and kept up to date. Over the next few months, .nz will be working with Wiki New Zealand to source datasets to develop new Internet-related content.
Wiki New Zealand Founder and Chief Lillian Grace said she is really pleased to have .nz as a patron.
"We know that .nz are passionate about good quality and accessible data. Their support will help us in our mission to enable people to make informed decisions.”
"Wiki New Zealand is about connecting people and organisations to information in ways that they can understand and respond to. The Internet plays a really important role in many parts of our lives, and we will now be able to provide useful information about how the Internet is used throughout New Zealand, both over time and compared to other countries,."
Because it is a wiki, there is an opportunity for anyone to have ideas or put together a chart and submit it to the site. With that support, there is potential for Wiki New Zealand to be the key one-stop-shop for easy-to-understand data for Kiwis.
